Jean M. McCoy Receives Professionalism Award as part of the Washington State Bar Association’s 2020 APEX Awards
We are delighted to announce that real estate attorney Jean M. McCoy has received Washington State Bar Association’s Professionalism Award as part of 2020’s APEX Awards. The Annual APEX (Acknowledging Professional Excellence) Awards honor exemplary members of the legal community, including legal professionals, judges, and members of the public. The Professionalism Award is given to a WSBA member who exemplifies the spirit of professionalism in the practice of law, as defined in the WSBA's Creed of Professionalism.
“Ms. McCoy’s nomination is filled with references to her fairness, honesty and compassion. She is a mentor to new attorneys, and is highly respected by the local bar. She practices in the contentious areas of landlord-tenant and creditor’s right law. Judges trust her, and she is a trusted, reasonable practitioner in the community. “Kind” and “diplomatic” are words used to describe her. She also edits the local bar newsletter, Hearsay, and has been active in the WSBA Real Property, Probate and Trust section.”
